Task 1 Personal Project - Planning (Project Brief)

AN INTROVERT

Introduction
Extraversion–introversion is a central dimension of human personality theories. Extraversion tends to be manifested in outgoing, talkative, energetic behaviour, whereas introversion is manifested in more reserved and solitary behaviour.
Introverts are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings. They often avoid social situations because being around people drains their energy. This is true even if they have good social skills. After being with people for any length of time, such as at a party, they need time alone to "recharge." When introverts want to be alone, it is not, by itself, a sign of depression. It means that they either need to regain their energy from being around people or that they simply want the time to be with their own thoughts. Being with people, even people they like and are comfortable with, can prevent them from their desire to be quietly introspective. Being introspective, though, does not mean that an introvert never has conversations. However, those conversations are generally about ideas and concepts, not about what they consider the trivial matters of social small talk.
A lot of people think that the introverts are anti-social, stuck-up, awkward or super weird, but the introverts know themselves not as how people think who or what they are. I think they just simply prefer to be a little quieter, a little more thoughtful, and a bit more observant. They always seem to have different ideas on their minds than the people who are extroverts. And there are a lot of people who support or suggest the introverts to be a little bit outgoing and extroverted, these a lot of people think that being extroverts are better than being introverts, and I think it is absolutely wrong because whether a person is an introvert or extrovert, this person has the advantages and disadvantages, nothing is absolutely bad or good.

Statement of the Problem
The problems that we have here are
(1) The ignorance of a group of people who think that the introversion is bad but extraversion is good.
(2) A group of people call the introverted people anti-social, stuck-up, awkward or super weird.
(3) A group of people look down on the introverted group of people.
(4) A group people have wrong opinions for those introverted people.
(5) A group of people try to change the personalities of the introverted people to be outgoing and extroverted. (It is OK/not bad to be introverted)
But in facts the introverts are not only the personality of being shy and unsociable. It is the personality of enjoying thinking, exploring their thoughts and feeling on their own. They often tend to be creative and thoughtful.
Limitations: I will be studying on the psychological fields in introversion. And I wanna create a campaign to solve these problems and educate people, get their ignorance into a right way of thinking about being an introvert. Having creative ideas is important to build a campaign concept, I am planning to narrate what's really inside the introverts, and tell a story of the introverts' thoughts to the people who think that introversion is bad through imaginary photographs. The target audience are between age 12-25 year-old youths, teenagers and young adults. And I will focus on the psychology part of the introverts such as what's really on their minds and reason why they are introverted.
Delimitations: I will not focus on extroversion, although refer a little into the study and campaign planning because the main topic is about introversion. And I will also not do many interviews with the introverted people but ask for people's opinions around me what they really think about introverted people, studying introversion doesn't really necessarily need to be communication only with the introverted people.
Hypothesis: In an outcome of this campaign, it will get the ignorance of introversion to stop calling the introverts anti-social, stuck-up, awkward or super weird, and changing people's mind of the way they "look down" on the introverted group of people but actually the introverted people are thinking up a storm.
In conclusion, the main issue that I am addressing here is the facts of the wrong opinions that people have for the introverted people, it is OK to be introverted, and it is nothing wrong with it, but changing the introverted people who they are is really inappropriate to do so. I am planning to focus on one of the photography techniques to do this project - double exposure; double exposure is an effect that two images are shot on one frame that has an overlay effect, nowadays not all of the digital DSLR cameras have that effects on the cameras, but we do have the softwares to do this effect such as Photoshop. Double exposure can easily help me deliver the narration of the introverts' thoughts and get people's ignorance out of their opinions and make them change the way they think about the introversion.

Statement of Significance
The reason why I wanna create such campaign is to help those introverted people not to be understood in a wrong way by the others, and it is important to be fair and nice to everyone, calling the introverted people "super weird" is a big moral and lack of knowledge issue. Trying to change the personalities of the introverts are most definitely inappropriate thing to do. The objectives that I have is to make people realise that introverted people are beautiful and intelligent just the way they are.
