Lectures from Mr. Shawal.
Type of lenses
There are many different types of lenses, I've learned several from my class.
-Kit lens, for shooting regular photos, 18mm-55mm, usually comes with the camera. (Few lenses inside)
-Zoom lens, for shooting regular photos, 70mm-200mm, usually for distance shooting. (Few lenses inside)
-Prime lens/Fixed lens, for shooting portraits, 50mm. (There's only one lens inside)
-Telephoto lens, for shooting sports and wildlife, 400mm-1000mm, it takes sharper photos than zoom lens does.
-Wide Angle lens, for shooting 160 degrees, 16mm-10mm.
-Fish Eye lens, usually for shooting landscape photos, 8mm-15mm, it can shoot 180 degrees.
-Tilt and Shift lens, for shooting architecture photos, mostly for architecture to correct distorted image.
-Built in Lens, lens on digital cameras or on phones.
-Macro lens, for shooting tiny objects.
Light
-Available Light, from sun or moon.
-Artificial Light, from lamp/flash.
Filters
There are many types of different filters for lenses. I've learned several from my class.
-UV Filter, to eliminate the UV rays.
-Polarizing Filter, to eliminate 2 F-numbers, (usually makes sky more blue.)
-Neutral Density (ND) Filter, basically does the same function as Polarizing Filter.
-Gradual ND Filter, is usually for shooting landscape pictures, it separates the sky and ground.
-Color Filter, to give different moods, there are blue, red, green, sepia and etc.
